History

Our company was founded by Castelanelli Francesco in Genoa in the immediate aftermath of the war.

During that period, the main activity was the production of pitch to waterproof the twine for sewing the soles of the shoes.

When glue appeared in cobblers’ workshops, Castelanelli Francesco developed its own line of high quality glues which met successfully the requirements of retailers and users. So, at the end of 1950s, Castelanelli Francesco created the trademark TRE PINI, still well-known all over Italy due to the quality of the products and the abilities of the company.

In the mid-60s Francesco’s sons, Ermelindo and Antonio, joined the passion of their father. They brought new energy and passion and the Company increased its production capabilities by means of investments in new machines and equipments for calendering and dissolving the raw materials.

In a short while the Company was able to propose its adhesives to different industrial sectors, such as:

  • shoe industry;
  • wood industry;
  • shipbuilding industry;
  • resilient flooring industry;
  • diving equipment industry;
  • thermal and sound insulation industry;
  • DIY sector.

In 1970 the Company acquired its first semi-automatic machine to packing glue in tubes. This allows the TRE PINI brand to be present also in the domestic use.

In 1972 the Company moved to its current location in Genoa, Via delle Terre Rosse 38.

During that period the Company developed a new line of adhesives for the footwear sector, named AQUILCOL.

In the mid-90, Francesco’s grandchildren became part of the company, bringing new energy and expertise to improve the competitiveness in the market of chemical product, which is ever more dominated by the presence of big companies.
