History
Our company was founded by Castelanelli Francesco in Genoa in the immediate aftermath of the war. During that period, the main activity was the production of pitch used to waterproof the string for stitching soles of shoe.
When glue appears in cobblers’ workshops, Castelanelli & Figli develops its own line of high quality glues which is successful among retailers and users. This way, at the end of 1950s, the trademark TRE PINI is created. This trademark is still well-known all over Italy thanks to the quality of the product and the professionalism of the company.
In the mid-60s, the Company grows acquiring new machines for calendering and mixing neoprene and solvents. In 1970, the first semi-automatic machine for packing glue in small tubes is bought. This allows our trademark to be present in domestic use as well as in professional use.
In 1972, Castelanelli Francesco & Figli moves to its current factory in via delle Terre Rosse 38. New investments on machinery and equipment are made which allow the company to conquer an ever larger share of the market. Over this period, the company launches another shoe glue, AQUILCOL, which also is quite successful.
In the mid-90s, Mr Francesco’s grandchildren become part of the company bringing new energy and expertise to improve its competitiveness in the market of chemical industry which is ever more dominated by the presence of big companies. Customers’ specific requests together with the need of finding adhesives which could glue an ever wider range of materials lead Castelanelli & Figli to develop and produce different types of glues for:
-the shoe industry,
-the wood industry,
-the shipbuilding industry,
-the rubber flooring industry,
-the diving equipment industry,
-the thermal and sound insulation industry,
-DIY-bricolage.

Present
At present, Castelanelli Francesco & Figli is a strong company which preserves its family-run character which has characterized its whole life. It is managed with professionalism and passion by Mr Francesco’s sons and grandchildren. The company continues to operate within the “historic” sector of the production of glues and adhesives for the small and large industries and distribution by keeping relations of cooperation with different customers, for dimensions and specific requirements, spread around the national territory. The main priorities of Castelanelli Francesco & Figli have always been attention to needs and relation with each single customer as well as close cooperation with different suppliers to continuously improve the quality of the products.

Future
The guidelines for the future of Castelanelli Francesco & Figli are the same as always:
